About Riffe Lake

Riffe Lake is a beautiful 23.5 mile man-made reservoir on the Cowlitz River. It was created in 1968 after the construction of Mossyrock Dam. Riffe Lake is open year-round, and so are we! Riffe Lake offers beautiful coves to relax and swim in, waterfalls, and several miles of hiking trails. She also offers pristine fishing for anyone who wants to throw in a line. Rainbow and Cutthroat trout, Brown Bullheads, Smallmouth bass, and Chinook salmon are just a few that are swimming in her waters.

Riffe Lake Campground is also close to other fishing. Swofford pond is open year round. Swofford offers a boat launch, but combustion engines are not allowed. Fishing includes Channel catfish, Brown Bull head,Brown and Rainbow trout, Smallmouth and Largemouth bass, Sucker, Yellow perch, and Crappie.

Mayfield Lake is also very close to Riffe Lake Campgrounds. Mayfield is open year round and offers Brown Bullhead, Chinook salmon, Coastal Cutthroat, Coho salmon, and Rainbow trout.

For all fishing rules call Tacoma Power’s Fishing Line at (888) 502-8690. Thank you.
